I really only need to write entries for school credit, but this will also probably be the best way for family to keep in touch with me while half way around the world for three months.
At first, the excitement of my upcoming trip stems from the fact that it's an entire new place for my eager self to visit, a new culture to experience, and a new, beautiful landscape to see. But it's all very unknown. I realize it's not going to be the most glamorous of trips, no matter how much celebrities and others make it out to be, and I'm okay with that. I almost prefer it. I don't know what else to say about it though because I only have thoughts about what it will be like, and what may change in me, but I can't be certain until I've gone and returned. As of now, I do my best to not let the preparation get in the way of my excitement (there's a LOT of preparation, especially books to be read, resumes to be filled out). Although there's much to gain from preparation.. I'm realizing I don't want to go over there to change people's lives, they're going to change mine. I'm so excited to learn about the field I've been studying to have a career in, something I am passionate about. This internship is another step toward my goals. I could go on and on, which is probably why I stopped blogging quite a while ago, I journal write instead. But these are my current thoughts of my future, of a girl pumped and ready to experience a new culture and everything that comes with it!

A map of Thailand and a photo of Chiang Mai (internet sources)
